Angela Molinaro

I am a M2 student in Philology, Literature and History of Antiquity at the Università degli Studi di Bari “Aldo Moro”.

I earned the Bachelor’s Degree in Classic Literature, with a thesis on Photius’ Bibliotheca – particularly on the chapter 265, which is about Demosthene’s life and works. My main purpose was to research Photius’ sources and to compare his text to Pseudo-Plutarch’s Lives of The Ten Orators.

In my recent academic path, I have become very interested in papyrology and palaeography. At the moment, my research focuses on the PSI XIV 1396, which was found during Italian excavations in Oxhyrhynchus, led by Evaristo Breccia. The papyrus has been assigned to a date between the II and the III century AD. It contains fragments of an historical text but its author is still unknown.

My participation to IIPS 2017 was a great chance for me, because it provided me the opportunity to enhance my knowledge by meeting important scholars and by sharing ideas with colleagues from other countries. Besides, this experience gave more depth to my approach to papyrology by extending it from different viewpoints and it allowed me to see how collaboration and sharing are important in this field.
